Responsibilities
- Teach at least 36 credits annually, designing an effective learning environment to address contemporary nursing issues.
- Evaluate student learning through various assessment tools and actively participate in curriculum design and program evaluation.
- Mentor students, advising them at least once per semester and developing success plans for at-risk students.
- Oversee clinical adjuncts, facilitate students' clinical practice, and maintain knowledge of program outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with clinical agencies and staff, identifying and addressing clinical concerns.
- Grade clinical papers and provide timely feedback, maintaining records of student performance.
- Contribute to program policies through the governance structure and participate in faculty meetings and events.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in nursing or related field from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Previous teaching experience in a registered nursing program at a college or university is preferred.
- A current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the teaching location.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in a nursing specialty is preferred.
- Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and activities.
