Responsibilities
- Instruct students in a variety of nursing courses, including didactic, clinical, lab, and simulation instruction.
- Teach a concept-based curriculum to prepare students for roles as contributing members of the health team and beginning practitioners of nursing.
- Engage in scholarly activities and professional development, including teaching pedagogy, institutional responsibility, and community service.
- Facilitate teaching demonstrations as part of the interview process.
- Participate in operations and support functions as required.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or current enrollment in an MSN program.
- Current license or a multistate licensure privilege to practice nursing in Virginia as a registered nurse (or eligibility to obtain immediate licensure), without any disciplinary action that currently restricts practice.
- Minimum of two years of experience in direct patient care as a registered nurse.
- Dedication to the community college mission.
- Experience using a variety of computer software programs and ability to learn new ones, particularly related to online instruction.
- Ability to teach students effectively and create lesson plans.
- Passion for the field of Nursing and for teaching.
- Use of creativity, innovation, and compassion to instruct and engage students.
- Ability to teach a diverse student population.
Qualifications

Pay
$61,860 - $84,265
Schedule
This position includes instruction focusing on client care across the lifespan in a variety of settings. The schedule enables a healthy work-life balance by being off during the summers, and having time off during each semester break and around the holidays.
