About the role
The Arizona College of Nursing seeks qualified individuals to join our dynamic team of educators. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in med-surg and fundamentals, along with a passion for nursing education.
Responsibilities
- Teach and evaluate students in the classroom, designing an effective learning environment to address contemporary issues in nursing.
- Facilitate the application of theoretical knowledge to clinical practice, overseeing clinical adjuncts and communicating with clinical agencies.
- Develop and implement the nursing education program, ensuring alignment with program outcomes and objectives.
- Mentor students, advising them and addressing their academic and personal needs, while maintaining a presence on campus and contributing positively to the community.
- Evaluate student performance, maintain records, and communicate regularly with Course Lead Faculty regarding student progress.
- Participate in the development, evaluation, and revision of admission, progression, and completion policies, adhering to institutional guidelines.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in nursing or related field from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a graduate degree in a related discipline from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
- A minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university is preferred.
- A current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty is preferred.
- Maintain professional competence and expertise through ongoing education and participation in professional activities.
