About the role
The Arizona College of Nursing is seeking experienced educators to join our dynamic team. Ideal candidates have a strong background in med/surg and pharmacology, with a passion for teaching and a commitment to advancing nursing education.
Responsibilities
- Teach at least 36 credits annually in both didactic and clinical settings.
- Design and implement a curriculum that addresses contemporary issues in nursing.
- Evaluate student learning through various assessment tools.
- Develop and maintain student success plans and remediate “at risk” students.
- Oversee clinical adjuncts and facilitate the application of theory to clinical practice.
- Communicate effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students.
- Maintain accurate records on student performance and complete clinical site evaluations.
- Provide timely and clear feedback on clinical papers and suggest improvements.
- Adhere to and enforce policies and procedures of Arizona College of Nursing and the assigned clinical facility.
- Connect students to college resources for their success.
- Coach students on soft skills, including responsibility, dependability, and teamwork.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in nursing or related field from an accredited program.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university.
- A current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty preferred.
- Maintain professional competence/expertise in teaching through activities such as nursing practice, continuing education programs, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing.
