About the role

Azarian College of Nursing seeks qualified candidates to join our dynamic team of educators. This position is responsible for teaching and evaluating students in both didactic and clinical settings, contributing to the success of our nursing program.

Responsibilities

  • Teach at least 36 credits annually, designing an effective learning environment that addresses contemporary issues in nursing.
  • Evaluate student learning through various assessment tools and actively participate in curriculum design and program evaluation.
  • Mentor students, advising them at least once per semester and remediating “at risk” students.
  • Oversee clinical adjuncts, facilitate students' application of theory to clinical practice, and maintain knowledge of program outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students, identifying and addressing clinical issues promptly.
  • Grade clinical papers and provide timely feedback, maintaining accurate records of student performance.
  • Connect students to college resources and consistently demonstrate and coach soft skills, teamwork, and responsibility.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, in-service offerings, and other nursing events, providing input on admission, progression, and completion policies.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in nursing or related field from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or CHEA.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university.
  • Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty preferred.
  • Current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
  • Maintain professional competence/expertise through ongoing activities like nursing practice, continuing education, conferences, workshops, seminars, academic courses, research projects, and professional writing.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with educational technology and digital learning platforms.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
