About the role

The Director of Nursing (RN) - Emergency Services (ER) at North Alabama Medical Center is a full-time, exempt position with comprehensive benefits. This role is part of a diverse healthcare network with facilities coast to coast.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement innovative programs to improve patient outcomes and ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.
  • Collaborate with providers, staff, and leadership to elevate clinical performance and patient experience.
  • Oversee ongoing staff education, competency, and adherence to clinical and patient safety standards.
  • Partner with quality leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and advance toward becoming a highly reliable organization.
  • Collaborate with other service line leaders, facility leadership, and system executives to provide consistent, patient-centered care.
  • Support provider and staff recruitment, retention, and engagement.
  • Demonstrate values through inspirational leadership and a commitment to patient-centered outcomes.
  • Partner with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination, patient experience, and service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current Alabama RN license (or eligible for licensure)
  • A minimum of 5 years progressive leadership experience in Emergency Services
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build effective relationships
  • Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation in acute care settings
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and implement performance-improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • BLS and ACLS required (or obtained within a defined timeframe)
