Director Nursing Emergency Services
Job Summary
As our Director of Nursing Emergency Services for St. Bernardine Medical Center, you will plan, implement, and coordinate the overall performance of our emergency services. You will oversee a 24-bed ER with an average daily census of 240, two urgent care centers, and a transitional care clinic. Every day, you will direct the operations, work with senior leadership on key initiatives, and work with other front-line leaders to ensure we maintain high standards of patient care in very fast-paced environments. You will advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators in matters related to patient care, clinical best practices, and strategies. You will communicate the organization’s goals to the staff as we constantly seek to better serve our community by improving patient experience and delivering exceptional quality care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee operations of 24-bed ER, two urgent care centers, and transitional care clinic
- Directly manage and mentor a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Advise medical staff, other department heads, and administrators on patient care, clinical best practices, and strategies
- Communicate the organization’s goals to the staff to improve patient experience and deliver exceptional quality care
- Work with senior leadership on key initiatives
- Maintain high standards of patient care in fast-paced environments
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent education and experience with a Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (MSN/MBA/MHA) required
- Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required
- Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience required
- Registered Nursing License (RN) in CA required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Qualifications
- Experienced director with a track record of success in mid to large-sized hospitals overseeing emergency services
- Competent and confident with excellent communication skills

Pay Range
$76.20 - $113.34 /hour
