Nursing Director - Med/Surg
PeaceHealth, a mission-driven, not-for-profit healthcare system, is seeking a dynamic Director of Nursing to lead our Med/Surg units in Vancouver, Washington. About the role
As the Director of Nursing, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Med/Surg units, develop and implement patient care programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a supportive, growth-oriented environment for caregivers. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, manage budgets, and drive quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Med/Surg units.
- Develop and implement patient care programs, ensuring high-quality and safe care.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Lead and mentor nursing staff, fostering a culture of professional growth.
- Manage budgets and operational efficiencies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and medical staff to optimize patient outcomes.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and patient safety.
- Promote change, facilitate redesign, and implement systems and processes.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program; BSN required.
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Business, or Healthcare required within two years of hire date.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington or current MSL is acceptable.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience.
- Experience with collective bargaining units preferred.
- Strong understanding of critical care operations and patient care management.
