About the role

Boston Medical Center-Brighton seeks a Nursing Coordinator to join our dynamic Cardiac Rehab team. The ideal candidate will have a BSN from an accredited nursing school and 3 years of acute care and/or Cardiac Rehab experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches patients about their condition and reinforces medication schedules.
  • Leads exercise sessions at Phase II, III, and IV levels (Cardiac Rehab) and adult fitness classes.
  • Incorporates evidence-based knowledge into decisions for patient care.
  • Participates in data collection and research related to the Cardiac Rehab Program.
  • Demonstrates effective communication with the Cardiac Rehab team, participants, and stakeholders.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers, respecting cultural diversity.
  • Assists with facilitating staff compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, governmental regulations, and professional standards of care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current licensure in Massachusetts as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS Certification Required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing school.

Skills and Abilities

  • Autonomous thinking and problem-solving in a dynamic outpatient environment.
  • Physical ability to demonstrate and participate in exercise sessions at Phase II, III, and IV levels (Cardiac Rehab) and adult fitness classes.
  • Public speaking, managing groups, communication, and clinical skills.
  • Ability to lead exercise sessions and assess patients for condition changes.
  • Knowledge of glucometer use, ECG analysis, and ACLS.
  • Professional demeanor, ability to work independently, and take initiative.
  • Identify, analyze, and solve problems to meet desired outcomes.
  • Manual dexterity for job functions.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and security.
