About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by using technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice, and coordinating care with other health team members.

Responsibilities

  • Absorbs and interprets information from various sources including patients, families, physicians, non-nursing disciplines, support staff, and others.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized patient care plans.
  • Directs the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Provides or delegates care according to the established plan of care, guidelines of care, and professional licensure provisions.
  • Evaluates patient responses to interventions and revises the plan of care as necessary.
  • Promotes the nursing profession and participates in the development of others.
  • Ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards, regulatory standards, and professional practice guidelines.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of employment.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four years of hire.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

Pay

The hourly range for this position is $37.45 - $57.29. Actual hourly rate is dependent upon experience.

Schedule

Shift: Monday/Wednesday/Friday 07-16:00 Tuesday/Thursday 07-11:30

Physical Requirements

  • Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication, hearing, and understanding spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients.
  • Walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
  • Stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
  • Drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.
