About the Role

Under the direction of the Heart Institute Executive Director, the Cardiology Coordinator plans, directs, coordinates, and supports all aspects of cardiology services delivered at the hospital. The Cardiology Coordinator works cohesively with all other hospital staff to collect data and serves as a liaison to assist nursing care areas and management where there’s opportunity. They serve as a service coordinator and liaison with multiple cardiology projects. The Cardiology Coordinator develops and assists in staff/patient education, leads, and participates in quality improvement and quality compliance within the Cardiac Service Line.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, coordinate, and support all aspects of cardiology services delivered at the hospital.
• Work cohesively with hospital staff to collect data and serve as a liaison to assist nursing care areas and management.
• Act as a service coordinator and liaison for multiple cardiology projects.
• Develop and assist in staff and patient education.
• Lead and participate in quality improvement and quality compliance within the Cardiac Service Line.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience in a Cardiology Department.
• Proficient in clinical cardiology definitions.
• Work requires a high level of knowledge and clinical competencies; BSN preferred.
• NJ-RN license required.
• Chest Pain Coordinator credential preferred or working toward certification.

• Detail-oriented with strong technical and critical thinking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills relevant to effectively communicate with physicians, health team members, and community leaders.
• Ability to prioritize work with minimal supervision and independently carry out the duties of the position.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
