Nursing Coordinator- Ambulatory Surgery Vascular (Full-Time) Days-Detroit

About the Role

The Nurse Coordinator is a Registered Nurse who, under the direction of department leadership, develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates a program of care for patients. This role coordinates care across the continuum to facilitate quality outcomes and collaborates with healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, extenders, ancillary, and support staff, to ensure optimum patient care and satisfaction. The Nurse Coordinator also provides education to patients and families regarding disease processes and trains and directs a nursing team in optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate patient care programs.
• Coordinate care across the continuum to ensure quality outcomes.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
• Provide education to patients and families about disease processes.
• Train and direct a nursing team in the optimal care of patients.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Successful completion of HFHS (Parent Operating Group) Pharmacology test.
• Current clinical knowledge in area of specialty.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Minimum of three to five years of progressively more responsible clinical nursing practice in specialty.
• Certification in specialty preferred.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Effective communication with patients, families, and medical group personnel.
• Preferred experience in the specialty.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS or ACLS per HFHS Policy.
