About the role

The Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing at Penn State Altoona seeks a full-time, non-tenure-line teaching position at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Teaching Professor in Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination and instruction in adult medical-surgical nursing, including classroom, simulation lab, and clinical teaching
  • Advising students
  • Participating in committees
  • Other service and scholarly activities as appropriate

Requirements

  • Candidates for the rank of Instructor must possess a master’s degree in Nursing and eligibility for RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • An earned Doctorate degree (e.g., DNP, PhD) within 5 years of hire is a condition of continued employment for candidates for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor.
  • Candidates for the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor must possess a doctorate degree (e.g., DNP, PhD) and eligibility for RN licensure in Pennsylvania.
  • Candidates with a doctorate will be given preference.

Qualifications

  • Show evidence of professional growth, scholarship, and mastery of medical surgical subject matter
  • Hold a valid nursing license
  • Be eligible for RN licensure in Pennsylvania
