Nursing Assistant - Progressive Care Unit (2C)
About The Position
Riverside University Health System (RUHS) – Medical Center is hiring a Nursing Assistant to join the Progressive Care Unit (2C) located in Moreno Valley.
The Nursing Assistant is an entry level classification and typically reports to appropriate supervisory or management level nursing staff. Incumbents may be assigned to any outpatient clinic or inpatient nursing unit across the Riverside University Health System (RUHS) or within the Department of Public Health.
Responsibilities
- Assists professional nursing personnel or other professional healthcare providers in providing basic patient care and treatment;
- Observes patients via video monitoring equipment from a remote location;
- Performs nonprofessional nursing duties in the care of physically and mentally ill patients;
- Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking;
- Frequent bending and stooping;
- Assisting patients with activities of daily living;
- Lifting and repositioning patients up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance;
- Safely performing approved de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques, including physical interventions when necessary.
Qualifications
- Education: Successful completion of the education required by the State of California to obtain the necessary valid certifications.
- License/Certifications: Valid Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) issued by the State of California.
Skills
- Knowledge of: The principles, methods and techniques of basic patient care and safety;
- Basic medical terminology;
- Video monitoring equipment and software;
- Safe patient handling techniques, including lifting, positioning and transfer methods.

$20.71 - $27.60 Hourly
$3,589.73 - $4,783.33 Monthly
$43,076.80 - $57,399.93 Annually
Schedule
To be discussed during the interview;
Night shift consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week, plus one 8-hour shift every other week, totaling approximately 80 hours biweekly.
Every other weekend is required.
Must be flexible to work any shift including weekends and holidays.
