A 39-bed Critical Care Step Down unit committed to providing high-quality, patient- and family-centered care for populations with various medical conditions, including pulmonary, cardiac, and neurological disorders, as well as post-operative care for surgical patients requiring a higher level of nursing care. The unit also cares for ventilated tracheostomy patients.

Responsibilities
- Provides care to patients according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Ensures safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services, and appropriate documentation of services.
- Serves as an Observer for any patient requiring constant observation, either in person or via remote video monitoring, to maximize patient safety.
- Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit.
- Documents care provided in the electronic medical record.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required.
- Current CNA certification preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately.
- Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
- Ability to move or lift patients and equipment.
