Nursing Assistant - Per Diem - Advanced Acute Care Surgical Trauma Unit - No CNA Reqired

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of direct patient care tasks to support the care team in providing quality care.
• Provide patient care as directed by the registered nurse, aligned with the multidisciplinary plan of care for each patient.
• Obtain and maintain the integrity of specimens in accordance with policy, procedure, and physician orders.
• Perform EKGs as assigned, following accepted practices, policies, procedures, and physician orders.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and fulfill designated responsibilities for ongoing continuum of care.
• Transport blood and blood products to and from the Blood Bank as needed.
• Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting for equipment care and maintenance, ensuring adequate unit supplies.
• Provide one-to-one patient safety watch as assigned, following established policy and procedures.
• Complete clerical responsibilities for task completion based on ability and training.
• Access non-controlled medications storage and supply areas, and transport non-controlled medications as necessary.
• Satisfy all job-specific obligations and comply with all organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) (Required).
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience (Preferred).
• Eligible applicants must be available to attend a minimum 2-week Residency Program/Orientation, requiring full-time hours during the initial orientation period.

Schedule

• Per diem, non-benefits eligible position.
• Rotation schedule based on department needs.
