About the role
The Technical Partner provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN. Essential functions include delivering care, responding to patient needs, and assisting with various medical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Perform and assist with patient care needs such as activities of daily living, vital signs, and equipment setup.
- Respond to call lights and inquiries from patients and families promptly.
- Measure and document intake and output, including drainage, and obtain daily weights when necessary.
- Transport patients as directed and apply aseptic techniques, apply heating pads, and utilize E cylinders.
- Collect and document patient care data, maintain isolation boxes, and monitor sterile supplies.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and document pertinent information for shift reports and internal/external transfers.
- Maintain a collaborative relationship with other healthcare providers and participate in performance improvement activities.
- Assist in the educational process and advocate for patient safety.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment and adhere to infection control processes.
- Support limited use of restraints and document restraint use according to policies.
- Assist in the department's compliance with regulatory agencies and maintain survey readiness.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Sound judgment, problem-solving skills, strong oral and written communication, and ability to follow directions.
- Strong ability to communicate complex topics to diverse audiences.
- Completion of a Nurse Aide or comparable program (such as EMT, Medical Assistant).
- Computer skills, phlebotomy, and EKG experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program required or obtain within orientation period.
- Act 33 and Act 34 with renewals.
- FBI Clearance with renewal.
Skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of infection control practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with medical terminology.
