Nursing Assistant- MedSurg- CDU (PT Days)

About the Role

Support patient care under RN supervision in the MedSurg unit at CDU.

Responsibilities

• Promote a positive patient experience by assisting with daily living activities, comfort measures, and basic patient care (ADLs, ambulation, vital signs).
• Perform advanced skills as needed, including phlebotomy, dressing changes, Foley catheter management, and simple treatments.
• Support clinical care while maintaining safety standards and patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and participate in patient rounding.
• Respond promptly to call lights and document care in the EMR.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and unit operations (e.g., transporting supplies and medications).
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff using respectful, safety-focused techniques.

Requirements

• High school diploma or rising senior in good standing.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Graduation from an approved CNA or Patient Care Tech program preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow detailed directions, work independently or in teams, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Minimum age of 16.
