Nursing Assistant - Med Surg Ft day
About the Role
Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients across various units. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.
- General Nursing Units: Care for patients from age 15 years to maturity by clinically competent nursing staff.
- Special Care Areas: Care for patients from age 15 years through adult with high-risk conditions by clinically competent nursing staff.
- Maternal Child Units:
- Labor and Delivery: Care for patients with pregnancy-related conditions by staff clinically competent in maternity care.
- Nursery: Care for newborns until discharge by clinically competent staff.
- Pediatric: Care for patients from neonate through age 18 by clinically competent staff.
- GI Lab Unit: Care for patients from toddlers (beginning age 24 months) through adult by clinically competent staff.
- Chemical Dependent and Psychiatric Units: Care for adult patients and families with a holistic approach to emotional problems by clinically competent nursing staff.
- Emergency Unit: Provide care to patients of all ages by clinically competent staff in pediatric and high-risk adult care.
- Surgical Services: Provide care to patients from neonate to geriatric.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Preferred Education: Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course.
- Preferred Experience: 6 months in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures.
- Required Certifications/Licensure:
- Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification on hire (ARC or AHA); must obtain AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position.
