Nursing Assistant - Med Surg FT days

About the role

Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide basic nursing care for an assigned group of patients across various units, including:

• General Nursing Units: patients aged 15 years to maturity
• Special Care Areas: high-risk patients aged 15 years through adult
• Maternal Child Units: pregnancy-related conditions, newborn care until discharge, and pediatric patients from neonate through age 18
• GI Lab Unit: patients from toddlers (age 24 months) through adult
• Chemical Dependent and Psychiatric Units: adult patients and families with a holistic approach to emotional health
• Emergency Unit: patients of all ages, including pediatric and high-risk adult care
• Surgical Services: patients from neonate to geriatric

You will complete established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period and perform other related duties as assigned. This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent

Preferred Education: Satisfactory completion of a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or Medical Assisting course

Preferred Experience: 6 months in the healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures

Required Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained through an approved American Heart Association Training Center or the Military Training Network
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to the position
