Nursing Assistant Long Term Care (LTC) (Straight Nights, Straight Weekends)
Job Summary
The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned resident under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Knowledge of and delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per care plan. Assists with basic health care needs including daily living activities, transfers, repositioning, and walking. Completes tasks related to food preparation and dining, and provides assistance with wellness and recreational programs.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required
- Minimum age of 16
- Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year
- Maintains all department specific required certifications
- May classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver’s license
- Must be medically qualified to perform the essential driving functions of this position as per our Sanford Driving Policy

About the Role
Provides assistance with wellness and recreational programs and encourages residents to participate. May participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
