Be the heart of compassionate care in a patient care support role with us! In this vital role, you'll provide essential assistance and comfort to patients, ensuring they receive the best possible experience during their healthcare journey.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction/supervision of an RN, provides basic nursing care for assigned group of patients
• Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
• Preferred Education: Satisfactorily completed a Nurse Assistant, EMT, Paramedic or Medical Assisting course
• Preferred Experience: 6 months in healthcare industry and/or knowledge of basic medical terms and procedures
• Required Certifications/Licensure: Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer to position

Patient population

• General Nursing Units: cares for patients from age 15 years to maturity
• Special Care Areas: cares for patients from age 15 years through adult with high risk conditions
• Maternal Child Units: Labor and Delivery cares for patients with pregnancy-related conditions; Nursery cares for newborns until discharge
• Pediatric: cares for patients from neonate through age eighteen
• GI Lab Unit: cares for toddlers (beginning age 24 months) through adult
• Chemical Dependent Unit and Psychiatric Unit: cares for adult patients and families with holistic approach to emotional problems
• Emergency Unit: provides care to presenting patients of all ages
• Surgical Services: provides care to patients from neonate to geriatric
