Nursing Assistant - Days/Evenings - GWV Float Pool (No CNA Cert Required)

Job Summary

Geisinger offers a Nursing Assistant a $1500 sign-on bonus for eligible candidates, starting at $16.25 per hour with potential for higher rates based on experience. Additionally, up to $40,000 in financial support is available to pursue a nursing career.

Job Duties

• Demonstrates reliability, punctuality, and strong attendance
• Communicates effectively and collaborates with the care team
• Performs a variety of direct patient care activities and clerical duties
• Maintains patient hygiene and changing linens
• Provides one-to-one patient safety watch as assigned
• Processes specimens and transports them to the laboratory
• Assists with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Serves as a mentor and preceptor for new staff and students
• Manages clerical tasks such as scheduling tests, faxing consults, and ordering supplies
• Transports non-controlled medications between units and the pharmacy
• Coordinates transportation of patients to various tests
• Communicates with food services to ensure appropriate patient diets
• Operates and troubleshoots clerical equipment

Requirements

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Skills

Strong communication, teamwork, and patient care skills are essential.

Pay

Schedule

Full-time, days/evenings, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday rotation required
