Nursing Assistant - Float Pool - Full Time - Days

Responsibilities

• Supports personal hygiene and daily living needs of patients.
• Ensures patient safety during treatment space preparation.
• Communicates patient feedback to appropriate staff.
• Documents patient activities and responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and sanitary patient care environment.
• Prepares exam rooms and equipment according to provider protocols.
• Maintains clinical care stock and restocks areas independently.
• Assists with intake, scheduling, and other duties as assigned.
• Manages sterilization needs for the department.
• Performs delegated activities using the 4 Rights of Delegation process.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of first clinical rotation as Nursing Assistant preferred.
• Completion of a 75-hour state-approved Nurse Assistant course or 6 months of Nurse Assistant experience required.
• Previous customer service, cleaning, food service, and/or patient-related experience preferred.
• One to three months of on-the-job experience to learn hospital procedures and work routines preferred.
• Previous experience in patient care settings such as hospitals, clinics, or nursing homes preferred.
• Previous experience with direct patient contact preferred.
• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and carry out instructions, follow schedules, communicate information, read simple and clear instructions, and complete reports.
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills commensurate with job description.
• Participation in mandatory in-services and continuing education programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by supervisor.

Schedule

The schedule for this position is 36 hours per week, days, 7a-7p, every 3rd weekend, 12-hour shifts.
