Summary
Registered Nurse, RN plans and implements professional nursing care for patients in accordance with hospital policies. Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned.
Major Job Functions

- Performs charge nurse responsibilities as assigned
- Maintains accurate and relevant records of patient care
- Administers medication as ordered by physician
- Recognizes and responds to life-threatening situations
- Fosters collaborative relationships with interdisciplinary teams
- Maintains quality of care based on outcome-oriented indicators
- Participates in cost containment efforts and accurate charging for patient services
- Adapts care based on age-specific needs
- Supports patients' cultural and spiritual practices within medical guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in nursing required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred
- Current licensure in North Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Compact state licensure
- At least 2 years of acute care experience

Physical Requirements

- May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
