Responsibilities
- Performs personal care such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, moving, and transporting patients.
- Collects and documents vital signs and other observations of patients.
- Answers patient call lights promptly.
- Distributes and sets up water, snacks, and patient trays.
- Aids in patient grooming and hygiene needs, maintaining skin integrity, personal comfort, and addressing population-specific needs.
- Assists with ambulation, transfer, positioning, and range of motion (ROM) according to activity orders and patient needs.
- Implements fall prevention plans as specified in the plan of care.
- Collects and saves specimens.
- Assists with admission, transfer, discharge, and post-mortem care.
- Maintains a sterile environment by handling hazardous waste safely.
- Reports environmental risks or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Uses equipment according to policies, procedures, and manufacturer directions.
- Documents observations and health status data accurately and timely.
- Protects patients, visitors, and employees from injury during transfers, lifts, and transports.
- Contributes to a safe and supportive work environment.
Requirements
- Age 18 or older OR age 17 with a high school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program OR completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program OR completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program OR previous direct patient care experience.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training within 30 days of hire.
- Lifting capacity: up to 32 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Completion of a CNA program or equivalent.
- Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program.
- Completion of the Allina Health Nursing Assistant Academy Program.
- Previous direct patient care experience.
- Current BLS certification.

Pay
$21.33 to $27.78 per hour
Schedule
8 FTE (64 hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour evening shifts Every other weekend
