Nursing - Annually Contracted Faculty

About the role

The Sinclair Nursing Department is seeking an Annually Contracted Faculty member to join Sinclair’s Health Sciences Division beginning Fall 2026. This position is open only to applicants who reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform work within one of these states.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
• Prepare, distribute and submit syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
• Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
• Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student’s needs
• Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
• Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
• Maintain accurate records of student progress
• Teach a minimum of 15 payload hours per semester for both fall and spring semesters
• Work closely with the department chair to implement the policies of the department and college

Requirements

• Minimum of a master’s degree in nursing required OR must meet the specific requirements associated with Tested Experience
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in nursing required AND widely accepted experience specific to the field of the course to be taught
• Must possess and maintain Ohio Registered Nurse Licensure required
• Must have 3 years of nursing practice experience required
• Must have 2 years of teaching experience preferred
• Must have current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification by date of hire required
• Must have immunization requirements upon hire required
• Must demonstrate a commitment to teach a concept-based curriculum with application across the life span with different patient populations in Didactic, Laboratory and Clinical settings required
• Must demonstrate a commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level
• Must have effective communication skills required

Skills

• Ability to work in groups
• Ability to use technology in a variety of modalities such as instructional support, research, and communication
• Ability to utilize Human Patient Simulators or similar high technology simulation for use in classroom and laboratory settings
