Nursing Analytics Program Manager
Data Analysis and Interpretation
Oversee and manage the utilization of the NDNQI, Vizient clinical database, and other benchmarking analytics tools.
Analyze and interpret nursing performance metrics, patient outcomes, and quality indicators to identify areas of improvement and best practices.
Collaborate with nursing leadership and other stakeholders to present actionable insights derived from data analysis.
Quality Improvement Initiatives
Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives based on data analysis and evidence-based practices to enhance nursing performance and patient care outcomes.
Monitor the effectiveness of improvement initiatives and make necessary adjustments for optimal results.
Compliance and Benchmarking
Ensure adherence to national nursing quality standards and regulatory requirements by regularly benchmarking the hospital's performance against national and industry standards.
Participate in accreditation surveys and data reporting for external entities.
Data Integrity and Security
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and security of nursing analytics data by implementing robust data management protocols.
Collaborate with the hospital's IT team to address any data-related issues and ensure data privacy compliance.
Reporting and Communication
Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards to communicate nursing analytics findings to key stakeholders, including nursing leadership, hospital administration, and quality improvement committees.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate data-driven decision-making and support strategic planning initiatives.
Continuous Learning and Professional Development
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in nursing analytics, healthcare technology, and quality improvement methodologies.
Participate in relevant training and educational opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Proven track record of clinical leadership in the enhancement and support of clinical information systems including the electronic health record.
- Licenses/Certifications/Registrations: Required Active RN License required. Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Excel, SQL) to extract, analyze, and present data effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to draw meaningful conclusions from complex datasets. Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey findings to diverse audiences. Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead quality improvement initiatives. Broad knowledge of information technology fundamental concepts including web, cloud services, mobile apps, wireless communication, software development, wearable devices, preferred. Ability to work independently, one-on-one, and as part of a diverse team to deliver high-quality and efficient results. Experience in leading optimization of health IT systems at a tertiary/quaternary care organization, preferred. Excellent communication and organization skills. High level knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Possess analytical skills to conduct comparative analysis. Ability to gather rapport from management as part of the implementation of the Benchmarking Analytics tool. Self-starter, project management, data evangelist, data analytics experience and team player. Demonstrates customer service values. Must be flexible and committed to teamwork and continuous learning.
