About the Role
This position provides clerical support to nursing leadership (excluding SVP) in accordance with established procedures and coordinates activities within the Nursing Division. The role also includes assisting with corporate-level duties as delegated by the Director of Nursing.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursing Leadership Team.
- Perform data collection and entry, develop spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, forms, letters, memorandums, and reports for various projects. Collaborate with IT to generate reports in EMR or other software programs.
- Schedule meetings, coordinate agenda items, prepare meeting materials, and take/transcribe minutes as needed.
- Maintain files for general correspondence, reports, financial, legal, procedural, and historical matters. Manage files related to local, state, and national healthcare organizations, boards, councils, and committees.
- Handle frequent telephone interactions with physicians, community members, department managers, associates, and other stakeholders. Coordinate conference calls, screen calls, and ensure timely follow-up on complaints.
- Work independently on projects from start to finish, ensuring professionalism, accuracy, and timely completion.
- Assist with coordination of nursing special events.
- Track and order office supplies.
- Coordinate the New Associate Orientation event monthly, arrange accommodations, complete administrative tasks, and deliver content as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Demonstrated typing, English, and math skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with office equipment, computers, and medical terminology.
- Valid driver’s license (Ohio license required within 30 days of residency) and compliance with BVHS’s company fleet policy and insurance requirements.
- Positive, service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of universal precautions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience.
Physical Demands
- Full range of body motion, including intermittent sitting, walking, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and standing for up to seven hours daily.
- Ability to lift 20–50 pounds and reach work above shoulder height.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, corrected vision and hearing within normal range, and strong eye/hand coordination and finger dexterity.
