Nursing Adjunct Instructor

Master degree in Nursing and current Michigan RN license is required to teach the classroom portion of the Nursing program. Candidates with a Bachelor degree in Nursing and a current Michigan RN license can teach clinical. The pay range for clinicals is $43–50.00 per hour. A Master degree is preferred; those without a graduate degree will collaborate with the Nursing Program Director to create an education progression plan to obtain a graduate degree within 5 years of hire. About the role

Adjunct instructor positions are part-time. Teaching assignments vary from semester to semester and are based on enrollment, so there may be semesters with no assignments available.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, and papers.
• Prepare and deliver instructional materials (e.g., syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts) in person and/or online.
• Initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations.
• Participate in required reporting processes (e.g., grades, participation).
• Assist students in connecting to college resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree or higher in Nursing.
• Current State of Michigan RN license.
• Master degree in Nursing required to teach classroom portion; Bachelor degree in Nursing sufficient to teach clinical.
• If hired without a graduate degree, must collaborate on an education progression plan to obtain a graduate degree within 5 years.

• Adjunct instructors are employed by EDUStaff, LLC, unless receiving a pension from the Michigan Public School Employees Retirement System.
• Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.
• Unofficial transcripts may be used during selection; official transcripts required if selected to teach.
