About the role
The Nursing Technician supports registered nurses by observing and documenting patient conditions, assisting with patient support, and performing clinical tasks under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Support patients with daily living activities such as meals, personal care, and mobility to aid recovery.
- Assess patients’ quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination to anticipate needs.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients to appropriate locations per care plans.
- Assist with clinical procedures like monitoring vital signs, blood glucose, EKGs, and applying restraints.
- Maintain unit supplies and equipment, ensuring a safe, clean environment compliant with safety standards.
- Ensure fall-risk patients have proper safety measures in place.
- Document clinical procedures, patient interactions, and medication use for accurate records.
- Respond promptly to nurse delegation and share patient observations for efficient teamwork.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification as required by the State of North Carolina DHHR, Nurse Aide Certification, and BLS certification (American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider).
- No prior experience required.
