NURSE TECHNICIAN - ECB (as needed)

About the role

Oklahoma Surgical Hospital (OSH) is a physician‑owned, 5‑star rated hospital (as rated by Medicare) committed to providing superior personalized healthcare and redefining patient experiences. As an ECB Inpatient Nurse Tech, you will work 24 hours per month plus one summer and one winter holiday (Saturday or Sunday, day or night shifts). During the first week of employment you will work Monday‑Friday, 8‑hour day shifts. This safety‑sensitive paraprofessional position assists registered nurses by assuming responsibility for direct and indirect patient care, supporting nursing and medical staff to achieve optimum patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities, personal care, and comfort measures
• Maintain a safe and clean environment
• Perform certain tests or procedures on a specific patient population (as dictated by the unit) under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse
• Support nursing and medical staff in providing optimum patient outcomes

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to start date, or completion of a free BLS class offered by OSH within 60 days of hire
• Zero to six months of prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare setting, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program (preferred)

Qualifications

• Maintain current competency as a Nurse Technician per the department’s competency program
• Demonstrate knowledge and competency in current caregiver practices that are unit‑ and age‑specific
