Nurse Tech Progressive Neurosurgical

4 South is a 44-bed Progressive Neurosurgical unit located in Butterworth. In this role, you will be instrumental in the care of general neurology and neurosurgical patients. Our neurosurgical patients are highly complex, including spine surgery patients, those who have undergone craniotomy and craniectomy for brain tumor resection, removal or debulking, and elective aneurysm interventions. Our general neurology patients include those who have experienced acute stroke, seizure, chronic headaches, and general neurological disorders such as Guillain-Barré Syndrome, multiple sclerosis, and myasthenia gravis exacerbations.

Responsibilities

• Perform various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients under the supervision of a Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures.
• Perform routine bedside nursing activities including bathing and personal grooming of patients, ambulating, moving and turning patients, assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices, making patient beds, and caring for personal property.
• Assist in performing additional nursing procedures such as catheterizations, suctioning, irrigating colostomies, applying restraints, giving enemas, douches, sitz baths, or peri care.
• Care for multiple patients with a variety of diagnoses, with a focus on neuroscience patients and some fall-risk patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 Days (Required)
• Direct patient care experience (Preferred)
