Nurse Tech
About the role
This is a great opportunity for a student enrolled in a Registered Nurse program at an accredited school who has completed at least one academic term, including a clinical component. The role requires a Nursing Technician license from the Washington State Department of Health.
Responsibilities
- Affords assistance with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges under the direction of a licensed RN.
- Assesses patients, manages patient belongings, provides comfort items, and assists with patient orientation and transportation.
- Documents all clinical activities within the scope of practice.
- Observes and reports changes in patient care to the RN.
- Collects and transports various samples as needed.
- Communicates effectively with the care team to develop an interdisciplinary plan of care and documents relevant patient data.
- Maintains a neat and organized work environment by ordering, stocking, and replenishing supplies and equipment.
- Reports and addresses issues with supplies or equipment.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations.
- Ensures safety and compliance with safe work practices and policies.
- Works collaboratively with the care team and supports the organization's values.
- Complies with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements.
- Adheres to the Professional Appearance Policy to represent the organization professionally.
Requirements
- Must be a student in good standing and have completed at least one academic term which included a clinical component.
- Must be able to provide documentation of current clinical competencies from completed Nursing School course work for each completed quarter of education.
- Must be registered by the Washington State Department of Health as a Nursing Technician.
- Must hold a valid HCP (Healthcare Provider) Level of BLS (Basic Life Support).
Qualifications
Education: Must be a student in good standing and have completed at least one academic term which included a clinical component, or a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing awaiting results of licensing exam for Registered Nurse, but no longer than 30 days past graduation. Must be able to provide documentation of current clinical competencies from completed Nursing School course work for each completed quarter of education.
