Nurse Supervisor I - Whitaker
About the role
The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a large agency responsible for various health and human services. The position is located at the Whitaker PRTF within the Central Regional Hospital.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the residential services section of the Whitaker PRTF
- Assume leadership role in supervising YPEA staff members
- Assist in supervising nursing staff
- Coordinate activities between defined areas
- Provide supervisory input into scheduling, programmatic treatment, and other medical and residential decisions
- Provide clinical oversight of YPEA's operations on all shifts and to the nursing staff as needed
- Monitor residents for physical and psychological status
- Administer medication and evaluate its effectiveness
- Maintain records of seclusions and restraints
- Provide ongoing resident education on health, self-care, socialization skills, and medication utilization
Requirements
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
- Two years of nursing experience
Qualifications
Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications as outlined in the vacancy announcement. No additional KSAs or management preferences are required.
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of nursing procedures, supervision techniques, and communication skills are essential. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and pass NVCI/APTA and CPRA.

- Compensation range: $71,698.00 - $118,304.00
- Flexible working hours: Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.
