About the role

The Neurodiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center (NDI) is part of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), offering advanced evaluations and treatments for psychiatric patients in a modern, healing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Program Administration Support:
    • Prioritize and organize daily patient care.
    • Make care assignments and assist in developing treatment plans.
    • Direct support staff to coordinate workflow and communicate problems.
    • Monitor safety and security by conducting routine rounds.
    • Complete required documentation of nursing notes, transfer forms, and other records.
    • Provide orientation and support to staff on the unit.
  • Program Management Support:
    • Assess and document individuals' physical and psychosocial status.
    • Administer medications and treatments according to policies and procedures.
    • Develop and implement nursing care plans.
    • Complete medication administration supervision, monitoring, and clinical observation notes.
    • Educate individuals and family members about medication, procedures, and treatment goals.
    • Respond and intervene in emergency situations and with agitated individuals using verbal de-escalation techniques.
    • Ensure safety and infection control standards are met.
  • Talent Development & Performance Management:
    • Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees.
    • Set expectations, measure progress, provide feedback, and evaluate performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, active Indiana RN license, current CPR certification, and compliance with behavioral intervention training.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and present to a large population.
  • Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
  • Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and electronic patient records.
  • Knowledge of nursing and facility policies and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations and use verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Ability to understand and apply medical and facility terminology.
