About the role
Provides direct nursing care within the ICU, demonstrating clinical leadership and serving as a role model to foster a positive work environment and high-quality patient care. Responsible for implementing and documenting individualized care plans across diverse age groups, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring adherence to hospital policies and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Follow patient safety policies, report safety concerns, and promote a safe environment.
- Administer medications, assist with tests and procedures, and respond to emergency situations.
- Deliver direct patient care, ensuring accurate documentation and effective communication.
- Participate in staff orientation, training, and precepting new personnel.
- Encourage patient engagement in their care and report near misses or errors promptly.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; bachelor's degree preferred.
- RN licensure in the relevant jurisdiction; BLS certification required within 30 days.
- Additional certifications such as Basic Arrhythmia, ACLS, and TNCC within specified timeframes.
- Ability to perform heavy physical work and work in hazardous environments with proper PPE.
Skills
- Preferred bilingual English/Spanish and experience in ICU settings.
