Nurse Staff, Operating Room, Full Time, Weekends

About the role

An operating room nurse plans, executes, conducts and evaluates both direct and indirect nursing care provided to a surgical patient. They function in the role of charge/lead nurse and coordinate and delegate care with other professionals and ancillary personnel. They serve as a resource person for other SRH/nursing personnel to resolve work-related issues.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process (Assessment, Planning, Nursing Diagnosis, Implementation and Evaluation) to provide and document professional nursing care to patients in accordance with the medical plan of care, critical pathways, established SRH and Nursing Policies and Standard Work.
• Incorporates principles of statistical analysis, scientific theory, developmental and decision-making skills to achieve better patient outcomes.
• Serves as a resource person for other SRH/nursing personnel to resolve work-related issues.
• Eligible to participate in the Clinical Ladder program.
• Participates in any other job-related duties as requested by Nurse Manager or Director.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
• ADN Degree.
• BLS certified.
• CNOR Certification preferred.
