About the role
The Lourie Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, is seeking a Nurse Specialist to join their team. This role involves providing support services and consultations to families and staff regarding child health issues, community resources, and educational services.
Responsibilities
- Supports families and staff with child’s diagnosis and health issues, including sleep, nutrition, safety, behavior, and other developmental and parenting concerns.
- Provides community resources and other supports to families.
- Educates families about MCITP services and obtains necessary background information for assessment reports.
- Participates in eligibility and family assessments and assists in developing the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).
- Coordinates services and collaborates with other professionals on multidisciplinary teams.
- Attends IEP meetings for medically complex children and facilitates information sharing and care coordination.
- Requests and reviews medical records for coordination of care.
- Collaborates with outside agencies such as DHHS, MCPS, parent support groups, financial supports, WIC, etc.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
- Maryland R.N. license required.
- Pediatric nursing and experience in early intervention and home health care preferred.
- Solid understanding of family-centered practice and family coaching model preferred.
- Bilingual speaking preferred.
Work Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

$66,913.60 - $100,360.00
