About the role

The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient progress and report changes to healthcare providers.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Successfully completed the Behavioral Health unit orientation process.
  • Independently functioning in the Behavioral Health Staff Nurse role.
  • Current RN License in the State of Alabama.
  • Current BLS Certification Required.
  • National Certification Preferred.

Qualifications

  • Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
    • Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing
  • Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
    • Schedule: 2 twelve hour shifts a week, rotating weekends 11a-11p, Day-Evening Shift, 12-Hour Shifts
