Nurse Program Coordinator - Interventional Radiology - Days

Job Summary

The Nurse Program Coordinator coordinates activities and functions of a designated program to ensure that goals and objectives specified to the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations or other specifications.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience with at least one (1) year in a progressive leadership or supervisory role
• Previous experience in staff education and professional development (orientation, preceptorship, in-services education, etc.)
• Previous experience in an academic healthcare setting
• Experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
• Completion of a Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Certification in specialty area

Experience

• Experience with IR and/or coordination in drain management is strongly preferred

Education/Training

• Required: Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
• PREFERRED: Master’s Degree in Nursing

Independent Action(s)

Practices within the boundaries of the regulations governing the practice of nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Practice is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing and established nursing practice standards and follows the VCUHS policies and procedures.
