Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatry & Psychology - Supplemental

About the role

Mayo Clinic Health System seeks a Nurse Practitioner to provide supplemental overnight coverage to inpatient psychiatric units in Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Mankato, Minnesota; and Albert Lea, Minnesota. This is a remote position with psychiatrist support available to comply with licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing referrals for admission for acceptance or denial
• Placing admission orders
• Responding to on-call questions
• Managing existing inpatients
• Working as an integral team member of a multidisciplinary team with social work, nursing, advanced practice providers, and physicians

Qualifications

• Must have 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner
• New Grads will not be considered at this time
• Masters or Doctorate-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program
• Current Wisconsin and Minnesota RN and APRN licenses and certifications
• Current BLS certification
• Eligible for DEA registration
• Preference given to candidates with PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification)

Schedule

• Part Time, Supplemental/PRN; as needed based on staffing
• Supplemental Nurse Practitioners are required to work a minimum of 96 hours per payroll year based on staffing needs
• May be asked to work an ongoing but irregular schedule or to work short-term temporary schedules
• Employees have the option to decline work
