Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for children, adolescents, and families.
- Diagnose mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
- Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications.
- Congduct follow-ups to assess effectiveness, side effects, and progress.
- Educate clients and families on medication use and adherence.
- Provide individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy.
- Utilize evidence-based modalities such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Support clients in building coping strategies and emotional regulation skills.
- Work closely with clinicians, social workers, case managers, and other providers.
- Participate in treatment planning meetings and case consultations.
- Provide guidance to staff on psychiatric and medication-related concerns.
- Conduct risk assessments and safety planning for high-risk clients.
- Provide psychiatric support during crisis situations.
- Collaborate with families to develop crisis management strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with DPH regulations, agency policies, and billing standards.
- Stay current with state and federal guidelines.
- Provide training and consultation to staff on psychiatric topics and best practices.
- Support professional development within the clinical team.
- Engage in community outreach and represent the organization as needed.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (required)
- Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- DEA Registration
- CANS Certification
- 5–10 years of related clinical experience
- Valid driver’s license (Class C or D)
