Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care

Brief Overview

CHOP is hiring for a full-time Primary Care Nurse Practitioner to work at their three New Jersey locations: Somers Point, Smithville, and Cape May. The Nurse Practitioner will provide health care management and support to well and sick children, collaborate with attending physicians, and participate in scholarly activities.

What You Will Do

• Assessment and diagnosis including obtaining a complete health history, performing a physical exam, ordering and interpreting screening and laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, making a diagnosis, and formulating a family-centered plan of care.
• Interventions including treating health concerns, providing patient/family education, providing follow-up care, consulting with other healthcare professionals, and making referrals.
• Perform advanced procedures as outlined in the Scope of Practice document and approved as part of the credentialing process.
• Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of prescribed treatment plans. Modify the plan of care based on the effectiveness of treatment and the patient/family response to the plan.
• Participate in scholarly activities including research, publications, and education.
• Participate in own professional development by maintaining required competencies, identifying learning needs, and seeking appropriate educational offerings.
• Demonstrate commitment to patient safety by speaking up about safety issues and changing practices to enhance safety. Share errors through system reporting mechanisms, and demonstrate shared accountability for safe practices.

Education Qualifications

• Master's Degree Nursing - Required

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to work in an inter-professional team setting with multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to use computer and electronic medical record effectively.

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
• Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) (Pennsylvania) - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required or
• Registered Nurse (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
• Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) (New Jersey) - New Jersey State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
• Prescriptive Authority - Pennsylvania State Licensing Board - upon hire - Required
• Specialty Certification - in area of education/subspecialty (Pediatric Primary Care, Family Nurse Practitioner or Dual Acute/Primary Care Program). - upon hire - Required

Compensation

SALARY RANGE: $107,200.00 - $142,100.00 Annually. Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
