Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Psychiatry Outpatient Office

About the role

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed healthcare professional with a master’s degree in nursing who specializes in providing advanced patient care. They must have completed ACLS and BLS certifications, as well as ATLS upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and complete physical examinations
• Order and interpret medical laboratory test results
• Diagnose medical conditions of patients
• Administer medications or treatments and perform minor surgery
• Complete accurate patient coding for effective billing
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical reports
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and instruments
• Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts
• Ensure the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge
• Act as a mentor to new staff and/or physician assistant students

Requirements

• Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Successful completion and maintenance of ACLS and BLS
• Able to quickly master all aspects of a computerized medical recordkeeping and billing system
• Project a professional image and earn the confidence of others
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
• HIPAA compliance at all times

Qualifications

• NP - Nurse Practitioner – Licensed upon hire
• ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support upon hire
• BCLS - Basic Life Support upon hire

Skills

Knowledge of anatomy, principles or theories of neurology, microbiology, physiology, psychology, human disabilities, pharmacology, gerontology, human growth and development, human developmental disease, and medical terminology.
