Nurse Practitioner Pain Management
About the role
The Nurse Practitioner for Pain Management will be a Full-time opportunity for a Board Certified (or eligible) provider to become part of our Pain Management provider team. Experience in Pain Management is preferred and open to train new graduates with a serious interest in Spine and Pain Management. The NP will also see follow-up patients for chronic musculoskeletal pain, Spine, and post procedure follow up. The NP provides healthcare services that are typically performed by a physician and are under the scope of practice of that physician. These services are provided by the NP under the supervision of an appropriate physician listed with the Georgia Medical Board.
Responsibilities
- Conducts comprehensive physical examinations and assessments
- Provides treatment
- Orders diagnostic tests and in some cases may order medications as approved by a physician
- Develops treatment plans
- Counsels patients
Requirements
- MSN
- Unrestricted current APRN license in the State of Georgia
- CPR certification – current BLS
- Three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting
- Two years of nurse practitioner experience
Qualifications
- Minimum requirements include MSN, unrestricted current APRN license in the State of Georgia, CPR certification – current BLS, three years of professional nursing experience in a clinic setting, and two years of nurse practitioner experience.
Skills
- Experience in Pain Management
- Ability to integrate data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan
- Knowledge of medical practice guidelines and state laws
- Ability to prescribe/dispense medications and/or injections
- Ability to educate patients regarding health promotion/illness prevention
- Collaboration with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs
- Monitoring and continuity of care between visits according to treatment plan
