About the role
MaineHealth Cardiology is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Associate/Assistant (PA) to join their team in Augusta and Waterville, Maine. This is a split position working 2 days a week in each location.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Diagnose and treat various cardiovascular conditions using evidence-based medicine.
- Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs and medical guidelines.
- Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.
Requirements
- Successful completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Two years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience preferred but not required.
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure.
- Current BLS certification.
