About the role

MaineHealth Cardiology is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Associate/Assistant (PA) to join their team in Augusta and Waterville, Maine. This is a split position working 2 days a week in each location.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Diagnose and treat various cardiovascular conditions using evidence-based medicine.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on patient needs and medical guidelines.
  • Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as appropriate.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Two years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience preferred but not required.
  • Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure.
  • Current BLS certification.

Qualifications

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of cardiovascular disease management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.

Schedule

Full-Time, 40 hours per week, 4-day work week. No nights or weekends, Outpatient Only.
