MaineHealth Cardiology – Rockport is seeking an experienced patient centered, respectful, flexible, and detail oriented Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing practice.
About the Role
This role includes predominantly outpatient clinical duties, with some inpatient coverage, and will be split between the Rockport and Belfast practices. It is a full-time, 40 hour/week position.
Responsibilities
- Provide acute care services to patients in a variety of settings
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to develop and implement patient care plans
- Perform physical exams, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as appropriate
- Manage patient care transitions, including referrals to specialists and discharge planning
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing education to maintain clinical competency
Requirements
- Current nursing license issued by the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure
- Successful completion of an approved Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
- Minimum three years of professional nursing experience
- Two years of Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant experience preferred but not required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
- Experience in acute care settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
