Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant III – Critical Care: Nocturnist
Responsibilities
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in the Department of Critical Care provides advanced practice care for critically ill patients within one of the following intensive care service lines:
- Cardiothoracic/Transplant ICU
- Neuroscience ICU
- Abdominal Transplant/Surgical ICU
Qualifications
- New graduates are welcome to apply!
- Physician Assistant:
- Must be a graduate of CAAHEP (Council on the Accreditations of Allied Health Education Programs) approved university program.
- NCCPA certification required.
- Must be licensed/certified or eligible to practice as PA in the State of Florida.
- Nurse Practitioner:
- Master's degree in Nursing required.
- Certification by the ANCC or AANP in a specialty area required.

Schedule
This full-time nocturnist APP position consists of 12-hour night shifts on a rotating schedule, with APPs working approximately 13–14 shifts per month. APPs also have the opportunity to work up to three-day shifts per month, based departmental needs.
