Critical Care Physician Assistant (Nocturnist)

About the role

We are seeking a Nocturnal ICU Physician Assistant to join our dedicated team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. Our mission is to provide superior healthcare, foster strong teamwork, and make a lasting positive impact on our community.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, comprehensive care to medical/surgical/cardiac/neuro and cardiovascular ICU patients.
• Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU.
• Work autonomously and multitask within the critical care team.
• Commit to excellence in clinical service and demonstrate problem-solving abilities.
• Must provide evidence of procedural competence with central lines, arterial lines, intubations, and chest tubes.
• Use EMR system Epic.

Qualifications

• Board-certified acute care trained Physician Assistant with unrestricted license.
• Prior ICU APP practice experience - minimum of 2-3 years post-training ICU practice time.
• Ability to independently assess, examine, and provide care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• A Missouri state license is preferred.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Schedule

12, 12-hour night shifts per month, block shift scheduling, generally 4-5 day stretches. The schedule is managed to provide a great work/life balance.
