Critical Care Physician Assistant (Nocturnist)
About the role
We are seeking a Nocturnal ICU Physician Assistant to join our dedicated team at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. Our mission is to provide superior healthcare, foster strong teamwork, and make a lasting positive impact on our community.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, comprehensive care to medical/surgical/cardiac/neuro and cardiovascular ICU patients.
- Participate in daily multidisciplinary rounds in the ICU.
- Work autonomously and multitask within the critical care team.
- Commit to excellence in clinical service and demonstrate problem-solving abilities.
- Must provide evidence of procedural competence with central lines, arterial lines, intubations, and chest tubes.
- Use EMR system Epic.
Qualifications
- Board-certified acute care trained Physician Assistant with unrestricted license.
- Prior ICU APP practice experience - minimum of 2-3 years post-training ICU practice time.
- Ability to independently assess, examine, and provide care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- A Missouri state license is preferred.
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
Schedule
12, 12-hour night shifts per month, block shift scheduling, generally 4-5 day stretches. The schedule is managed to provide a great work/life balance.
